Tibeertroute in Temse (Belgium)

The Tibeertroute starts in Temse where you can easily park your care or come by train. This route is really unique as it follows the beautiful Scheldt river for a while, but also crosses the countryside in the eastern part of the Waasland region. A wonderful combination. Temse itself is a nice cozy little village along the Scheldt where you can stay for lunch or diner at the end of the route.

As mentioned before, we rather follow the Scheldt river in the direction of Antwerp. In Rupelmonde we have to leave the Scheldt Trail and head north towards Bazel and along the Fort of Zwijndrecht, which as part of the belt around Antwerp had to defend this city during World War I. We continue to Beveren, a perfect place to catch our breath and regain strength for the second part of the trip. After Beveren, we head back south via Haasdonk to Tielrode and then via the old familiar Scheldt river back to Temse.
