Ros Beiaardroute in Dendermonde (Belgium)
Where else can we ride a Ros Beiaard (litteraly: Horse Carillon) route than in Dendermonde? This bicycle tour of just under 50 kilometers starts and ends in the city where the Dender flows into the Scheldt. The city has thus not stolen its name. The route takes you through the beautiful Dender region and Pajottenland. We pass for example Opwijk, just south of Merchtem, and Buggenhout.
We cycle east along the beautiful curves of the river Scheldt. We leave the river to go to Brussels and pass Buggenhout, where we also ride through the Buggenhout forest. The roads on this route are not always paved, but they are well rideable. In the place you get beautiful quiet nature through which you can cycle. After Buggenhout we pass through Opwijk and return to Dendermonde, where a deserved terrace awaits us for a drink.
